Rockman dumped Mercenario, a Spanish bootleg of Commando. caius dumped a German version of Street Fight. ShouTime dumped UFO Robo Dangar (Japan). Niko sent us a dump of Battle Fantasia (Taito TypeX2).

Until then it works perfect in ArcadePC Loader for those of You who wanna actually play this game. Perhaps we need a "PlayMAME" build which will use all that dirty hacks/tricks to make some of the games (which are not playable in MAME yet) playable until our PCs got the power to run real/clean emulation for those drivers ?! I.E. Type X, Lindbergh, Naomi, Atomiswave, Model 3 etc...
ArcadePC is hacked to make it work. It's not even an emulator. ArcadePC does nothing to help MAME. In fact, it harms MAME because now, thanks to the hacks, you risk this game never being dumped and properly supported in MAME. I know, why should it be dumped and emulated properly when you can play a hacked up version of it? This is what stops some games from being included in MAME. The same applies to some of the other games that are hacked to run. There's probably more to it than this but the general idea is that ArcadePC is not a good thing for MAME. Maybe one of the DEVs can chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

I am aware that ArcadePC Loader is not an emulator, by the way its name says "Loader". I never claimed that ArcadePC is trying to help or harm? MAME - It's simply a way to play these games through that loader/simulator, until some sunny day we wake up with super computers in our houses and we can then play these games "properly". (whatever that means) I can NOT agree with You that ArcadePC Loader harms MAME or preservation. (dumping the roms) What stops You from dumping Your Taito Type X (for example) arcade board/game ? In which way ArcadePC Loader do that ?

It harms MAME because it means the preferred way for these things to be dumped is ripping the files and bypassing MAME entirely, people aren't doing original unmodified dumps, the original unmodified versions are NOT being preserved. It encourages people who have these things / have access to these things to do it the wrong way.
I've say it's fun to watch a trainwreck sometimes, but it's quite alarming that people seem to prefer the trainwreck here.
We had a similar problem with NeoGeo back in the day, where instead of original dumps we were getting ones hacked to run in the more popular emulators. It took YEARS to clean that up (and we're only just starting to be sure all our dumps are correct now)
That was for common games, this is for less common ones, it's an absolute disaster, if it were an oil spill all our oceans would be black right now.
