Category.ini and Version.ini 0.171

Ready and available the packages containing the files:
- Version.ini ( + 'mess.ini' and 'arcade.ini')
- Category.ini
aligned to the 0.171 MAME version.
Also with regard to these files, the time has come to merge also my project: extended "category.ini" and "version.ini" to all the emulated machines; removed the files "category_full.ini" and "version_full.ini". In "category.ini" it has eliminated the generic category "Arcade, Fruit Machine, Pinball" and added all the sub-categories (coming directly from CatVer).
You can download inside the new renameSET.dat package, or separately at the same web page.

Category_home.ini was extremely useful in identifying the non-arcade (originally MESS) systems. These systems appear as a separate list in my front-end because they require a sub-list and they use different command options. Do you have another list that identifies these?

You could always keep improving EmuLoader's handling and configuration of non-arcade machines

Ok, it could be useful, but I work very complicated!
You can still continue to use the provided "mess.ini" to filter the ex-MESS machines... can be found in version.ini package.

One question: will arcade.ini or mess.ini always be updated or you plan to remove them at some point ?
I can use mess.ini to filter out non-arcade machines.

Change completed. Also, EL will favor category.ini and version.ini files instead of catver.ini. EL will still support catver.ini though.
