Shoutime got Yukai Tsukai by Seibu in 1987. He won't be able to dump it for a while.

That is one weird looking game but I can't wait to try it.

- Pop'n Run (Seibu Kaihatsu 1987) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzyPYl3yvcc -
The game looks like the former Far Side's cartoon strip creator/author Gary Larson made an attempt at creating an arcade video game back then. *kidding*

I love the unusual art style. I wonder if it's based on another work.

If it uses the same variety of ROM modules as Pop'n Run then that may be never...

Just a thought, maybe it was based on some kind of kids book or television show since it says "The Video Game" in the title? Especially with the style it was done in, seems like it should be tied into something findable...
Definitely another stellar find! Cool to see these rare ones even if we never get to try it out.
Thx Shoutime, again!

Yeah, I really love the art style, it's so completely unlike other arcade games. It's a shame we won't be able to play it for a while if ever.

I agree. It just looks far different than what one is accustomed to seeing as an arcade videogame that is not a laserdisc game such as Dragons Lair.

Yukai Tsukai and pop'n run are the one and the same.
The modules look similar to Cross Shooter/Air Raid.
All of the regular EPROMs have been dumped and I am meeting the CEO of Seibu to get some more background on the game.

Just when I think you couldn't do something more surprising, you do.
Thanks for everything.
