Hi!! After long chasing, I want to announce we got images from Nightmare / Clean Octopus from Playmatic. The reason of both games was that Clean Octopus was used for export and Nightmare as spanish version.
Images of flyer and ad from both version and more info posted here (in Spanish): http://retrolaser.es/imagenes-de-nightmare-clean-octopus-de-playmatic/

It's actually Nigthmare, looks like they couldn't spell.
That might seem like a minor detail, but could be important in tracking the game down..

Good work on finding a flyer etc. Having any flyers on hand should make things easier when trying track down a hard-to-find game since it shows what the cab looks like and gameplay as well. I know that myself when back in 2001 I was first asking about the game name that likely used film reels, but wasn't sure of the name or the company that made the game. It turned out to be the mid 1970s version of Nintendo Wild Gunman (uses film reels). It wasn't until late 2002 when a flyer of Nintendo Wild Gunman was finally placed online and then eventually added to TAFA in 2006. So these days [mainly younger generation] more folks are aware of existense of the mid 1970s version of Nintendo WG.
Sort of reminds me about of Planet Probe when maybe one or two remember the game very well and almost everyone else never knew existence of Planet Probe. One knew it well enough to describe gameplay and a melodic melody that is played when entering the player name in high scores.

Yes, the misspelling and name changes makes harder to track the game. It could be a mock-up made even before the game was released, but I don't know if was finally fixed. I wonder if leave the same text in the title screen in the ROM...
Also I search in spanish machine model register time ago that appears registered like "Nightmare" instead of "Nigth Mare". (Attached picture: link)
And yes, these Undumped Wiki entries needs to be update ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif) Regards!

Awesome finds and thanks for sharing. I can especially appreciate the design of the flyer. This one is a work of art IMO.

OK, can someone explain the "Clean Octopus" name to me and how it relates to nightmares? From the title it sounds like an even more bizarre game than Rhinoceros Bar Command would be.

If I had to guess I'd say it's a bad translation based off clearing a level.

maybe, despite the artwork, Clean Octopus wants to assure you that it contains no tentacle porn, whereas in Nightmare under the Sea there's no limit to what goes on in the cutscenes..

In my experience, Spain has really awful translators, so that's probably the case.
... I'd check the flyers, but for some reason the page refuses to load. I think my ISP blocked it.
