Console games on your Mame cabinet???

I just finished my MAME cabinet and have console games on it, with 2 controllers coming out the front of the cabinet.
Overall though it just looks stupid with the controllers, and having to stand just to play console games in general.
Does anyone else even bother with console games in their MAME cabinet at all? I find myself just playing the arcade stuff anyways since that's what it was really made for to begin with.
I thought it'd be a good idea to stuff as much content as possible into the cabinet, but now I'm kinda realizing maybe console games were meant to be played on the couch.

It may be pointless for you, but remember, Microsoft exploited the idea
Heck I saw one of these with an S unit and a Kinect sensor on top once.

I don't play console systems anyways....the Vectrex, and a VERY occasional Odyssey 2 playing, aside. But some people love having the feature. Keep 'em around for a while. You might find you change your mind.

Consider it high comedy....sincere tragedy....whatever...don't take it personally.

Yea, I just took them off the list for Maximus Arcade. Still on the computer just not selectable through a front end. Solved other problems also, for some reason when the NAG screen comes up on MAME games I had to move the joystick left and right on the Ps2 controllers I had connected instead of the Arcade sticks.

I'll raise you one.
GameCube:
MAMECube:
It used to have controllers on 'arms' that hung out of the machine (just like that Xbox 360 but around 1ft long), but I removed them as the player 1 controller was half wrecked, and the arms were pop-riveted onto each controller. Sorry about the image quality on the last pic, it was either a clear screen, or a clear bezel with a nice white dot on the screen (flash).

I am in the process of building a xbox 360 mame unit using joysticks. It a jtag box so it will have about 5 emulators and xbox originals aswell. Mainly for fighting games only as fps do belong on the couch.

Back before the Wii was out I remember seeing a GameCube kiosk with Starfox Assualt on it. I played it and I really wanted to buy it, but I forgot the same, so instead I bought Adventures, but I wasn't upset, loved Adventures.

This one had Super Smash Bros. Melee in it when I picked it up. The game shop had lost the key (BiLock type) to open the metal box containing the console, so they had no way of changing games. Additionally, almost every screw on the unit was a security Torx type with the pin on the middle.

And how, exactly, do you actually PLAY a console game on it?

I have 24" bar stools in front of my Excalibur and Pole Position. Perfect height. My main rig, Impress, and purple special cab are sit-down, so I have office chairs in front of them. Mucho perfect.

It's not a "NAG" screen - it contains information you need to know, like if the game is expected to work or not.

Yeah, but it displays each time you load the game - nagging like a ho - unless you know what command to pass/have a UI build that has it in the options.

Yeah, because we don't trust you to have long-term memory.

Moving the joystick left then right isn't so hard. You'll do it hundreds of times in-game anyway.
