I dunno. There is a conversion adapter for one of the Sanwas. I have sticks with each top. I don't really notice a difference in my game performance, but I know some people are ball-toppers-only. Restrictors are a little different, though again I don't notice a performance difference between round and octagonal. Restrictors have nothing to do with the top and shaft, except insofar as the thickness of the oval top shaft means shorter throw, which I like. Scifi frauds.
