just picked up a Logitech f710 gamepad and cannot get the right stick to work with Robotron. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx

You're saying it won't map input?
Incidentally, in my experience, the throw on gamepad sticks is too far, and the accuracy of them not great, for Robo.

yes, the left stick works fine for movement, but right one does nothing.

yeah, I dunno. My generic, twelve years old controller works. It sucks ass for Robo anyways. Buy some arcade controls. That's what I did.

That's perfectly normal.
The second joystick on dual-stick games will only work with MAME's default mappings if it's seen as a second, physical joystick by your operating system.
The right stick on a gamepad is normally seen as extra axis on joystick one, which is why it doesn't work with MAME out of the box.
All you need to do is map appropriately it in the "Controls - this game" menu.
