The new catver.ini is here.
I'm not sure about the category of: 3lilpigs, dumpump, fidlstix, hoopshot, jackbean, piggypas and rndrndqs
Is "Electromechanical / Misc." the correct category?
Are they pinballs?
I didn't find info about them.

I don't know about the real difference between the stock files, but i know AntoPISA's offers in the same ZIP a very useful catver_full.ini which gives category and versions for the FULL list of drivers, and not only for the Arcade ones.

Why am I getting this? I just downloaded & dropped the file into my "\mame\folders" folder...

Try to remove the very first line of catver.ini, from this:

Truco-tron and Truco Clemente are domestic card games (like bridge or canasta) and just for amusement. Are not gambling or casino games.
7 e mezzo is close to blackjack, but also isn't a casino game.

Don't know with others Frontends, but at least in the last QMC2, the catver_full.ini has big problem if [Added] is not changed by [VerAdded]

I Agree, I'll put them in the "Tabletop / Cards" category.

I do not agree.
In "7 e mezzo" you bet the coins you put in, it is pretty much casino-like to me.
PS:
Truco Clemente was in the "Casino / Cards * Mature *" category but I didn't find any sexy stuff in the game.
Somebody knows why "Mature"?

Emu Loader also doesn't read [Added] section. It must be [VerAdded]. Do you plan to change this section name to [Added] ? I could support both section names in my frontend, it's not that hard.

"7 and half" or "Siete y medio", is a cards game where you can bet with beans. I agree that the arcade (and maybe the real Calabria version) is gambling, but is not a casino game.

Dunno... there are 140 tiles in the first GFX bank for 2 (10x7) women showing their breasts. I never got one of these in the game. Maybe a leftover since it's a proto, and the women gfx are monochrome whilst the cards deck is not.

Are you using MameUI? This version is NOT for it. When Janez finishes the updates I'll convert it for using in MameUI, MessUI, MewUI.

I'm Spanish and "7 e mezzo" (7 y media, in Spanish) is a game played by children and family, it's like blackjack but with a Spanish deck (blackjack is also called "21" if played by kids)

I think is the best fit (at least for now) till we have other evidence about.

The question is "mature" or not... I don't think these gfx are currently used, since the game was tested in a local arcade full of kids. Anyway, we need to trace the code to be absolutely sure.

Online the fixed version.
Any other amendments and suggestions will be made to the next version.
Changelog:
- 2015/10/05: Fixed wrong '[Added]' to right '[VerAdded]'; changed category for entries '7mezzo', 'truco' and 'trucocl' (thanks to Robbie for suggestions).
- 2015/10/04: Added 0.166 sets.
