I've recently come to appreciate Top Secret as an even better movie than Airplane, though it's a difficult argument to make.

And it only gets harder because the reputations of the Lead actors effect what people think. Val Kilmer should have never moved on from comedy. Shouldn't have let himself go either... just a fat slob now. Damn, I miss his comedy though. Top Secret and Real Genius just never get old.

Managed to not see it growing up. I think this is my cue to watch it. Now.

MacGruber is hilarious and he was in that and it's recent.
In Hollywood you can't come in skinny and get fat or everybody gives you shit but if you come in fat you're fine.

> Poop and Germans
Yeah, Germans have anal on the brain and apparently in the genes. One reason I'm thinking of going there. White heffers who inherently love analgasm. And there's still real Art Music being played there...I think.
Anyways. The movie was funny enough I guess. It kind of jumps the shark at some point, becuase it becomes a matter of 'what zany shit can we think of for THIS scene?', and so there's fun, but not a lot of Art. I get far more enjoyment out of the the actual hard stuff - Kilmer singing and dancing, the scene stagings, the logistics (the underwater scence being the hallmark of perhaps all time), etc.....

Yeah, I watched Top Secret again last night. I laughed quite a bit during the movie. The scene I remembered most from when I last saw the movie (~mid-late 1980's ?) was the kissing scene at the end.
