I'm not sure the MAME 0.164 update files made it to the FULL dat (the MESS part is ok though).
For example, with no missings under CMP for the whole set, i don't have aquastge.png and avefenixl.png which are in the update package for Mame.
I didn't checked other files, but as they are not erased when checking with CMP, i guess there a not there too.

Thanks for the update. Did you delete MESS Samples ? Because MAME executable in CMP is still asking for them and I can't find them anymore !

Sorry for the delay. There were still a few issues to track down. I have completely wiped out my profiles, dats and downloads to start from scratch.
The first issue that I notice is that "pS_AllProjectMESS_20150815_(cm).zip" as specified in "MESS_progetto-SNAPS.zip" does not exist to download. The newest file that I found on the server was "www.progettosnaps.net/dats/cmdats/pS_AllProjectMESS_20150813_(cm).zip".

Now, the second issue. Something is up with the "progetto-SNAPS - Full Snap" dat:
* Its name has changed from "Full Snap" to "FullSnap". This is not a big issue, but causes problems when you have clrmame create directory names based off of the dat name.
* I believe that it used to have snaps for software lists at one time, since it is the Full list. My old directory had a2600.zip and a5200.zip in addition to snap.zip, where now only snap.zip exists. Were they removed for a reason?
I am still looking into an issue with downloading and tracking the version of this file is well. I have not been able to figure this one out yet.

The missing space in the "{name}" field for the DAT header (is "progetto-SNAPS - FullSnap", should be "progetto-SNAPS - Full Snap") causes two issues:
* ClearMAME Pro sees this as a new DAT, since the name does not match, and always reports the status as "new" even if the latest version has been downloaded.
* ClearMAME Pro has the ability to create directories based off of DAT names. When I deleted all of my profiles, it no longer looked at my older directory "progetto-SNAPS - Full Snap", and instead created a new directory ""progetto-SNAPS - FullSnap"" and complained that it was empty. This was not very important, but it was noticeable.
Ugh, that one was hard to track down...

I'm a bit confused (with all the recent MAME/MESS changes). Is there a "MESS cabinets" only?
Judging by the describing text it sounds like the "Cabinets & Devices" is only for QMC2, but what does other frontends use?
I also don't see "MESS Icons" anywhere? Are those not updated/used anymore?
Please don't take my questions as complaints. I'm just a long time MAME/MESS user that is still getting adjusted to having MAME/MESS combined and I'm really confused to how you're supposed to have your directory structure setup.
If anyone can elaborate on this; please feel free to comment or post some links. Do you keep MAME/MESS roms/software separate? How do you use software lists? Is there a right/wrong way to maintain your software roms/images?
