First question: I installed the latest IV-Play after 162 release. When I hit F5 to refresh the XML data, I would get the following .net Framework error:
Code:
See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. The application must also be compiled with debugging enabled.
For example:
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer rather than be handled by this dialog box.
I had the error with 0.162 of MAME, but also getting it with 0.163.
My other question is in the newly named "mamearcadeui64". When I launch it in Win7, I right-click the icon on the bottom and want to Pin the program to task bar like I did with the old version, but I don't have that option. The only option that I have is to close the program.
Any ideas on either of my questions? Thanks.

Don't have an issue w/ IV/Play here on x64 Windows 8.1 Pro using x64 MAME.EXE and hitting F5.
What version of Win7 is being run? What version of the mame.exe is being run?
Try killing the iv-play.dat and iv-play.cfg and reforce the pairing to the mame .exe or try a different .exe as the one you're using may be damaged.
I package mameui64.exe now so I don't know about that other one you're talking about. Actually I think I've seen that lack of context menu items when the program is not running properly or has hung, you might head into task manager and verify there aren't separate versions still running.

I have the 64-bit version of Win 7 Home Premium SP1 and a self-compiled version of MAME64.exe being used with IV-Play.
I did try deleting the .dat and .cfg files, expecting it to ask for which MAME executable to pair with, but instead it just dove right in with extracting the .xml file and throwing the error.
As for the other thing, I have a self-compiled version of mameui64, that I compiled using this list of make arguments:
Code:
make -j5 SUBTARGET=arcade OSD=winui PTR64=1 STRIP_SYMBOLS=1
and this time around, it output the "mamearcadeui64.exe" file. It was still named "mameui64.exe" when I did it with 162, so I'm just guessing that something changed with 163.
Anyway, I don't have it running in the background, verified by checking Task Manager. Should I try recompiling it without the SUBTARGET=arcade pair?
