R.I.P. Try2Emu website
#340267 - 05/21/15 06:56 AM

It appears that one of the top emulation news websites is no more . The website Try2Emu http://www.t2e.pl appears to be dead.

That's unfortunate. It was the most updated site with latest SVN compiles for MAME and many other emulators.
Where will I get latest svn builds for MAME now ? I can't compile it myself.

Of course you can. We've taught everyone from single-celled organisms to life-long Mac users to compile successfully, without any "helpers".

Yeah, if Dullaron can compile his own MAME, no-one should have any trouble.

If you let sites like EmuCR do the compiling, you deserve the included trojan.

Emu-France is solid. http://emu-france.com/

It looks like the last two emulation news websites that updates daily are EmuCR and Emu-France.

On occasion, my anti-malware software has alerted me to files downloaded from EmuCR as being infected with viruses/trojans. But many times they were false positives. So my question is... do you think EmuCR is intentionally a malicious website? Meaning, do you think the owners/uploaders of that website intentionally infect their files with malware? Or do you think it's just by accident/carelessness/incompetence?

I think they are careless. Nobody in their sane state of mind would intentionally infect shared files, that's bad business.
Unless they download files from somewhere else and just share them as they are in EmuCR.

Back in the day when I was into arcade emulation and MAME was king this site rocked. Some 50k page views per day and a lot of good memories and friends made. Then I got knifed in the back from someone I brought onto MAMEDEV and that was it, I'd had enough of the scene.

Who was the MAME Dev that he felt knifed him in the back?

http://www.t2e.pl

They seem to be struggling with bills to keep the site up ? More donations required.
