UltraStik 360: MapBorderLocations / Border option?

Hi:
I'm looking for clarification on what the border option does for the UltraStik 360? I looked at the source and tried screwing around with the default values but haven't found a pattern, other than a starting value of 30 and increasing values by 28, and a max of 255: MapBorderLocations=30,58,86,114,142,170,198,226
I asked Andy about the option and got this response: "The borders simply move the cell borders when mapping is used, this does not affect analog operation."
Can anyone else elaborate further to help me understand?

Hello,
I was confused about this also but after lots of searching I think I understand what it's used for now, it could definately do with better documentation.
I believe each number represents the borders of the cells, the default settings are evenly spaced resulting in equal sized square cells but by changing the values you can change the size and shape of the cells. I made a visualisation of what I believe it does (unless anyone knows differently).

This is great - thanks! I'll do some testing this weekend and confirm my results.

More cells would be ideal......so the only way I can think of this being useful is if you contracted the borders, to allow more in a smaller space, and then null the outer edge.

I just received confirmation from Andy that my explanation/visualisation is correct.
