> One of the reviews in the trailer was "EROTICALLY CHARGED" in big letters.
Any claim to overt eroticism is overstatement. Yes, the robot does have erotic qualities which do play in the plot mostly as innuendo, but the movie would disappoint any teen staying up late to watch it on the Movie Channel After Hours.
Looks good and has good reviews, but it reminds me a lot of a movie I have yet to watch (in my weekend list for some months by now). The Machine.
Wound up, can't sleep, can't do anything right, little honey / Oh, since I set my eyes on you. / I tell you the truth. I can't get it right / Get it right / Since I met you...

I added that to my view list, thanks. But the vibe of the two movies appears significantly different enough. The machine is a military application of AI and seems more action oriented.
Ex machina is more cerebral... actually no action to speak of. Even the trailer tells you up front its a turing test. Even it's title is intellectual, ex machina being a theatrical technique, used here as a double entedre.
