Optipac: two spinners and one trackbal....means two mouses?
#338907 - 04/14/15 05:01 PM

i connected on the optipac
one spinner on Player1
one trackball on Player1
one spinner on Player2

i tried to separate the inputs on MAME and enabling multimouse on mame i found that i was able to separate only spinner in P2 from spinner and trackball on P1

That means that P1 spinner and P1 Trackball are "the same input" while P2 spinner is separate

I also search in control panel devices on WindowsXP the mouse inputs and i found that disablying and enablying the mouse inputs it seems that P1 Spinner and P1 Trackball are the same input while P2 Spinner is a separate input (like mame) so i know now that is not a configuration mame problem.

What i want to achieve is to have three separate inputs, one for one spinner, one for the other spinner and one for the trackball.

Is is possibile to achieve this with the optipac or do i need to connect one of the spinners on a separate usb cable?

it sounds like u would need to use one of the trackball inputs of the optipac for your trackball, and use the other trackball input of the optipac for both of your spinners (ie. one of your spinners would use X1 and X2, and the other spinner would use Y1 and Y2).
then you would need to configure the mame default keys/inputs so that both of the spinners perform correctly, because by default mame would think both of your spinners form one single trackball, er, I think

No. He's using one interface/controller for three devices. I'm wondering....spinners and trackballs these days come with their own interface....what kinds is he using?...and why does he need the trackball separate from the spinner?

some of the older spinners like the taito arkanoid geared type spinner would need to go through the optipac
it looks like he solved his problem anyway:

I'd say so. Easy, too. Good.
