First MAME build. CPU to CRT question, and PC specs

Hey everyone. I'm making my FIRST MAME. I just bought my cabinet today (an old Turkey Hunter USA coinop) and I'm going to rip it up and use the cabinet and crt.
My first question is, what's the best way to go from a CPU to the CRT. Is a VGA to CGA realistic with a program to change the output to 15 kHz? Or should I be getting an ArcadeVGA graphics card?
Second, what kind of CPU should I be looking t? I'd like to be able to play MvC2 and even the Tekken games. Will a dual core be enough, or will I have to push into the next step of i3?

Are you sure Turkey Shoot is 15khz? Anwyays, as no on has answered, I recommend going over to BYOAC. They also have a wiki.

And that is the reason why no-one has answered.

No CPU that currently exists is going to run MvC2 anywhere near full speed in MAME. There are, however, plenty of Dreamcast emulators that will do Naomi games, so you have that option. As for the Tekken games, the key rule is to go with the fastest CPU you can afford. A Core 2 Duo is pretty long in the tooth these days, and I doubt you could run the Playstation-based arcade games in MAME on it.
