Robotron Sound Files
#335188 - 12/16/14 01:57 PM

Hi

I wanted to use some Robotron sounds for my mame cab for boot up, start game etc and have been scouring the net for some samples. Found a few but not the ones I really wanted so came across this link to enable you to extract all the sounds from a game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pE_RZ5GV1po

http://www.chronocrash.com/forum/index.php?topic=48.0

http://www.e2j.net/downloads.html

However, Robotron is not one of the games that comes up on the list once you've downloaded all the files and run the software so was wondering if anyone has a set of sound files for each of the different sounds in the game that they could post here or email me please?

Many thanks in advance

Cheers
Greg

Have you considered just recording them as you play the game?

mame robotron -wavwrite robotron.wav

this will give you a clean wav file of all audio while you played a game. You can later bring that into audacity and cut out what you need. I did this for SmashTV so I could get the "Bingo!" sound when you insert a quarter. I love it as a text notification.

Almost positive Robotron has a built-in sound test in its factory settings. That would really help in isolating each sound.

Hmmm... did R. Belmont's M1 support Williams games? That would be ideal. You might want to check. I'll take a look when I get back to a computer.

EDIT: Nope, don't see it in the xml list of supported games. So your best bet is to get into the factory settings sound test and rip each sample you want to a wav file and edit from there.

Ahh, now that sounds like a plan, should have thought of that - thanks for the idea:)
