Can someone please help, to find the name of a game?

Hi!
When I was a child I played a platformer game, where the main character was an insect like robot. Upon powerups it transformed into a bigger,more compley variant. The environments artwork ambient resembles the Alien films, the dominant colours were oily green and grey (if I recall correclty). It was 20+ years ago. Is there someone who is recognising the game based on this description? If so, please let me know the title of it, I really liked the ambient (despite that the difficulty was quite elevated, even in old arcade terms). Thanks in advance!
