How to prevent accidental minimizing mame. (mini-pac)

It is really annoying when i'm playing a fighting game against a friend and some combination of button presses seems to minimize mame behind hypersin (the front end).
I assume that is what is happening...I know that the arcade buttons correspond to keys on the keyboard and its like im activating some sort of keyboard shortcut that causes this. I would love if i could avoid grabbing my wireless keyboard and hitting alt-tab to fix it. =)
Any suggestions?

Old, old issue - if it's this - disable hotkeys. Also, I'd re-program the thing, if it can be, and get rid of all the shifts and alts and even space. Do all letters. Aeons ago, Slikstik made their own keyset, like the above although they had some numbers in there, I bet just for this reason, and I've never had an issue with it.
