Dig Dug - Can't you just chill at the surface & wait for baddies?
#332041 - 09/19/14 06:02 AM

I'm a noob at playing Dig Dug. The point of the game is to kill all the baddies on each level. All the baddies eventually rise to the top surface. So can't you just go to the top surface and wait for the baddies to come to you when they rise to the surface? It seems like it's more dangerous to dig and chase after the baddies than just waiting for them at the top surface. I got through the first bunch of levels by doing just that. I stopped playing because it got boring if that's all I needed to do. I'm assuming the later levels make it not feasible to use that strategy and tactic?

Have you played more than one game of it before asking that? You won't have time to pop them all before they get you after you are a few levels in. You must be extremely young, like 12.

Two things working against you.. more and more pooka/fygar as you progress, they turn to ghosts almost immediately and the lowest points are at the top layers (you can see the different colors). You might be able to survive to a point, but your score will suffer. I personally haven't tried that technique but I'm sure it'll reach a bottleneck.
