Laserdisc chd problems?

Hello,
What sorcery is needed to get a laserdisc game like firefox to run?
I have a chd for it and get a "decompression error"
I see this when I run chdman -info
Code:
chdman - MAME Compressed Hunks of Data (CHD) manager 0.154 (Jul 23 2014) Input file: firefox.chd File Version: 5 Logical size: 41,095,850,976 bytes Hunk Size: 380,496 bytes Total Hunks: 108,006 Unit Size: 380,496 bytes Total Units: 108,006 Compression: avhu (A/V Huffman) CHD size: 12,591,695,418 bytes Ratio: 30.6% SHA1: 3c4be40f55b44d0352b64c0861b6d1b650451ce7 Data SHA1: b500a834fa505e4c0649d8e5e6b7d40d4deef48d Metadata: Tag='AVAV' Index=0 Length=76 bytes FPS:59.940058 WIDTH:720 HEIGHT:262 INTERLACED:1 CHANNELS:2 S Metadata: Tag='AVLD' Index=0 Length=1728096 bytes ............................................................
which seems right? But I get that decompression error.
So I used "chdman verify" and it was happy. And then "chdman copy" and received a new different chd that gives me the same error. So I tried "chdman copy --compression none" and got a 40GB chd. And now mame says that it must be compressed with avhuff or whatever.
So I tried a few older mame versions lying around from last year + one of haze's builds to see if it was my compiles. But they all do the same.
Any ideas?

You're right. Well, R. Belmont said in my CRT shader thread that there should be a graphics layer that works (in SDLMAME) and a video layer that doesn't. But the graphics layer apparently doesn't show up with my shader enabled even though it does with other shaders. Maybe it's just because I didn't set alpha to 1.0. Hope so!
Thanks for the help!

Those games have a problem on the SDLMAME. All the laser games are good on my end. Firefox have that error for a while. Wouldn't worry about it until they say those are fix. I don't know why the Firefox reported working on 0.154 and then crashes later in the game. Unless it the Firefox with chdman v3 or v4 formatted been used.
Like B2K24 said. Those does work on MAME.

No, it really isn't. People need to stop repeating Dullaron's hateful slander. SDL builds work with laserdisc games exactly the same as baseline builds, but you must not use accelerated video with them right now. -video soft works perfectly fine.

Shaders should pass through the alpha already baked into the textures, otherwise stuff like Golly Ghost (and laserdisc games) won't work.

Yeah. That really should have been obvious, but I forgot these games existed.
Works now.
