Aaron works on the Windows kernel, which now runs PCs, phones, and the Xbox One from the same codebase (at least according to MS PR). So he's pretty busy there, and then he also has a young son. So MAME basically doesn't happen unless he's on a trip somewhere with a laptop (e.g. last year he cleaned up some really ugly old memory management stuff during his CAX trip; this year he couldn't go so nothing got done).

So what you're saying is we should put out a hit on his wife and kid. Gotcha.

Might want to buy out Microsoft and shutter it, too.

One of these days, I'm gonna get back to that. It's item #1,576 on my to-do list. One of these days...

Made me wonder if my old fanboy post re: Aaron was still online at Retrogames.
Answer: yes, and it's fourteen years old this week. Jesus.

Man, let's pay him a trip somewhere and we'll have MAME60fps in 2 days!
Nah just kidding. RLS and all that stuff, that's understandable and I hope he's having a happy life. I wouldn't mind him doing some of his magic again, but we should be thankful for all he has done related to MAME. Imagine if he didn't do anything and chose to work on other projects like faking satellite photos to hide the entrances to hollow earth or discover which of the alien races who control us did really kill JFK. There would be no MAME - RB would have deleted all drivers except Konami's and changed the name of the project to KAME, Konami's Arcade Machine Emulator.
Well we're not saved yet. According to quantum chromodynamics, it could still happen... In theory ^_^

DAmn that was entertaining.
Aaron spawned?? I had a feeling he was getting all oogly a couple/few years ago, just by some of his off-hand comments on his blog. He was getting the itch.
