Naomi speaks Russian ? 0_o

Not well known fact: few medal games on Sega Naomi hardware have Russian language included, its "club Kart Prize" and "Shootout Pool Prize / Shootout Pool the Medal".
I was very surprised when emulated SWP hardware and discovered this.

i wont believe it until you unlock the "dashcam view" in club kart. Then ill be positive its russian.

I don't think Russian dashcams were a meme when those games were made, unfortunately

btw, for documentation:
there is a bit messy names of medal "Shootout Pool"s in naomi.c
it is looks like "Shootout Pool Prize" is Export name, "Shootout Pool Medal" is Japanese name, here is game titles
shootpl on Export bios and Japan bios
 
shootplm on Export bios and Japan bios
 
so "shootpl" set is 2003 "Shootout Pool Prize / Shootout Pool Medal (Rev. A)"
"shootplm" is 2004 "Shootout Pool Prize / Shootout Pool Medal Ver. B"

do you have or seen a working setup ?
I meant "the Medal" title will be shown in the case of Japanese BIOS, "Prize" in the case of Export BIOS, with same game cart.
also there is two type of medal cab setup.
1st - Naomi mobo with game cart plus one more Naomi mobo with 840-130 "SWP Hopper Board" cart and "G2 expansion BD" as hopper controller.
this is what I've emulated.
2nd - Naomi mobo with game cart plus special SH I/O BD hopper-controller.
sadly, later medal games like Kick'4'Cash and "clubKart prize Ver.B" supports only 2nd type of setup, but 837-14438 SH IO BD is not dumped (at least I've not seen the dumps), which makes emulation more complicated.
so question - is that SH IO BD really undumped ? or maybe someone like mr.Geezer have it dumped ?

I haven't seen that in the wild. Medal games don't exist in USA arcades. I was just saying "The" was part of the title. Usually when people correct a game name and use quotes in their correction they are saying something precise/100% exact, so it was as if you didn't see "The" or thought it was part of the graphics or something. I don't know the answer to any of your other questions. It will probably show up on Yahoo Japan, though it might be bundled with a game mostly.

Andy Geezer might have a dump or might be able to get one, he did have an SH I/O last I checked

Yes, looks like main target for such games was Europe and Japan. they are not boot at all with US bios.

I think better chances to find such HW in UK or Italy, or other European countries.
