The UI needs a lot of work, I'm hoping someone who knows java can pitch in and submit some changes on github.

Hi DG. I'm glad you've acknowledged that the UI could certainly use some improvement in the features category.
Y'know DG, I've been thinking......instead writing a new UI or modifying the existing one, what about the idea of utilizing an existing frontend? I'm thinking about QMC2, arguably the greatest UME frontend ever made!

Wouldn't it be awesome to somehow incorporate the functionality MAMEHUB into a modified version of QMC2. Only thing you would need to add are the chat room and rom audit features. Then users could interact with each other and play online while having access to all of the great features and options QMC2 offers.
Is that something you'd embrace looking into DG?

The project needs another Java developer, more the merrier really. One to work on the GUI side of things.

Integration with QMC2 would be nice, but as you said, we would need to get the chat server and the rom validator integrated.
Also, the way QMC2 handles software (console games) sucks, they are buried in the software tab on the right side and they aren't checked when you scan for ROMs.
But still QMC2 is much further along than MAMEHub's UI, so it would be great to merge the two projects
