How did Aaron capture laserdisc with ati theater 650 and virtualdub, with vbi region intact and manual agc?

I'm curious because I just acquired an ATI Theater 750 PCIE card, and there's no ordinary options to lock AGC or disable it. There's also no option to capture full NTSC with the VBI region intact (don't know the horizontal resolution. 848?. Vertical resolution is 525).
Would be great to know exactly how to get full ntsc frame capture with vbi region intact, and disable AGC (might as well be macrovision). Particularly on ATI theater cards (ATI Theater 750 PCIE in my case).
I've tried dscaler but setting a custom resolution gives an error. Also looked through registry but can't find anything.
Find it a little disturbing that Mame's laserdisc capture method is so closed. It would certainly help a great deal to open up a little more, especially for those that have legally obtained their arcade game laserdiscs.

Ask there instead. Don't bump or spam there please. They might not know.

I pinged WarrenO (the other person who helped with this) on your behalf, hopefully he should be along later to comment.
Aaron is not likely to comment here, though it's always possible he'll make a liar out of me. You can try sending a PM, or using the contact form on his old site, but he's mostly retired from MAME at this point.

ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI card, and hacked/customized windows drivers (so vblank gets captured instead of being thrown out). I'm not sure of any details beyond that.

Joshua Roys has been reverse engineering the ATI Theater 750 for a Linux driver https://github.com/roysjosh/tvw-sdr. He's discovered register values with corresponding names. I'm not sure what method he's using.
After looking at Joshua Roys work, I dug into the driver files from Diamond's website (the same drivers I use for the Theater 750 PCIE card). I found read/write registers in the gtatinavrr.sys file with a disassembler (pe explorer). Most notable is the FreezeAGC register with a 0 bit. There's more registers with TBC, vertical/horizontal size, etc. Beyond that I'm not sure I can do much else.
Any help beyond this would be greatly appreciated!
