astinvad.c proper behavior

I know this has been discussed many times. Here's a video of the actually machine. Many thanks to Rohan for uploading it.
As you can see the screen never actually flashes. It only turns red when you actually die. Also nothing flashes when the little aliens hit the ground.
It has been acknowledged but not yet confirmed on MAMEtesters.

Would be nice to see this emulated properly as this was one of the many games I played back in the day.

Mine too. It's nice to know it was exactly like I remember it. I'm not senile yet

I'm hoping Tafoid can confirm it on MAMEtesters.

I remember this game. Was at the ShowBiz Pizza. The one had the Billy Bob Brockali bear.

Yes it was a very long time ago. I think it was when the colors were corrected. It went round and round on how it was supposed to behave. I believe the wording in the manual made it confusing. I new when the bug was closed at MT, that it still wasn't right. I didn't have the proof though. I've discussed it with Rohan who owns an original upright. He confirmed that it still wasn't right. He kindly uploaded a video of the gameplay.
*Gregf style below*
I remember playing it at King's Plaza in Brooklyn around 1980. It was much more fun than the Hustle machine behind it.

The old issue(s) now fixed and gameplay video behavior is like it should be thanks to hap's work from last month.

As for discrete audio part, that may be a while before audio is fully emulated via discrete emulation instead of external audio samples. External audio samples can only be done if the sound effects are simple single noise/one shot sound efffects...anything more complicated such as motor shift sound effects used for 1970s era Atari Sprint series games can not be done using external audio sample recordings.
iirc Astro Invaders manual has logic schematics for audio sounds.

Exciting indeed. Thanks Hap. My hat goes off to Rohan also for creating the evidence for my case.
