I'm talking about going to a bookmark, not setting one. 
It's for the purposes of speed, ease-of-use... less movement of the mouse to open 'bookmarks' then navigating from there or to other sub-folders.

I suppose. But who'd want to flood their desktop with that many icons?
I'm aware of setting a short-cut key too for icons. But, again, that'd be a lot of icons and combinations of Alt+ (whatever).

Pretty sure you can do that on an iPhone with Siri.
Edit: I stand corrected, Siri can't figure out what I want. Lame.

I disabled Siri... I found her completely useless...
If she asked me if I wanted to dial 911 one more time I was gonna blow a vessel in my head... and I didn't need that. I've got all my cranial vessels inventoried, and the paperwork if one came up short would be brutal.

You could set up a new desktop for every icon... thus having only one icon per desk top. BAM. PROBLEM SOLVED. Any time, Tom, just ask, man. I'm here with practical solutions like that all day.

Another way (doing away with the key press method) could be to announce; "Go To..." then follow that with "Amazon.com, Mameworld, Facebook, yahoo mail, cheesecake recipes, asian nurses, youtube," or whatever.

I don't use it much... the one case I found useful is for directions. I was in a hurry, trying to peck out an address and failing miserably. Finally I just activated Siri, asked it "How the fuck do I get to x?", and I immediately had a map and directions. For most other things, though, it's quicker and easier just to do the thing you want than to try to communicate it to Siri.
