MESS version that can run DC, PS1, and PC-FX?

In MESS 148, Dreamcast, Playstation, and PC-FX drivers look like they work, but the controls don't respond. PC-FX looks rough, and probably doesn't work, but I thought that Playstation and Dreamcast were working in MESS.
Should I be using another version of MESS, or did these systems never work in any MESS version.

MESS 0.148 is 18 months old. (In MESS land, anything over 2 weeks old is probably missing exciting progress). PC-FX isn't playable on anything, but PlayStation is quite playable on current and recent including multiple controller types and memory cards, and Dreamcast will boot a fair number of games (slowly, you've seen Naomi in MAME).

But I've seen screenshots of that console on three different emulators. At least XE (quite old, last version was 2009) and Mednafen (which is still in development). Do I miss anything?
I don't have any PC-FX disc image so I can't test them myself.
EDIT: I just realized "anything" here means "any MESS version".

Why it should be ? Every single game from PC Engine library works just fine in this emulator, so - no need of updating !? MagicEngineFX also works pretty well - I've tried a few games and all of them works 100%. (I am not a fan of "this kind" of games - they are all some kind of pron !)

Every so often you need to support stuff new technologies, like XInput.

I could never get any MAME / MESS version after 148 to work on my computer; there would just be a blank screen. I knew this was because newer MAME versions required "Direct 3D" beyond what my computer would display. I knew I needed to switch to "Direct Draw", but every time I tried to switch, it would switch back. Today I finally got it working by changing all configuration files, not just one.
"Direct Draw" looks much too fuzzy to me, but there is probably no solution except get a better computer.

Try downloading and running the DirectX 9.0c web updater.
What video card do you have?

I would guess it's an intel graphics card and there has been an issue with these for ages, but MooglyGuy needed access to a machine with the problem.

In DirectDraw I believe you can get rid of the fuzzies with -nohws, but that may also cause bad things for performance.

Acer X192W. The CPU is Pentium 4.
2 days ago, my computer got very messed up. I was trying to get a Dreamcast or PC-FX emulator working; I never could get any to work except MESS.
I saw the desktop icons shrink; now they are much smaller. Many images onscreen are stretched tall or wide, and others are squashed smaller. Vertical games like Pac-Man are now taller than the screen, and 3X3 Puzzle is stretched wider than the screen. It is like a wide-screen resolution, but I think the resolution is the same it was. This change is always present, not just in MAME.
