Yeah.. An April's Fool day. I dont get fooled every years. If it was announced two days ago then it might be legit one. Nice try.

From what there is (which isn't much) it appears to be a Linux analog to the XP piracy bootloaders that make getting correct dumps of these games such a pain in the ass. Or it could be a hoax

I don't think it's a hoax, it was posted a while ago and only just picked up by emu france.
Just looks like a linux wrapper like the type x loader thing as you say.

Ummm, perhaps someone could use Colinux for this loader? Unlike TTX or Konami-Based PC (Silent Hill Arcade), it doesn't run on exe it was on an unknown file format.

The date of the emu france article was the 29th of march so its not an April fool. It could still be a hoax but i hope not

Right but you never know. Maybe he edited the date to avoid an April Fool's date. Again, maybe its a real deal. We will have to wait and see. For now, I am not going to believe anything until proof is reveal.

Calling ELF, the most widely deployed executable format in the world, "an unknown file format" is kind of hilarious.
Colinux is unlikely, but if it's real someone could probably make it run on Steam Boxes pretty easily.

Would that be a Lorena Bobbitt emulator?

My Outrun 2k6 exploits have made me aware of a Lindbergh emulator in the works, but the last time I checked the I/O interface wasn't working on most games, thus the lack of a release. The TTX loaders, btw did just that... the games would pretty much run on xp as-is, but the I/o dongle was missing.
But hey, I'm making progress on the PC version if anyone is interested. I've got some real physics values hooked up to rumble. I should be ready for a proof of concept released sometime this week.

In case you're genuinely not in the know, it's common to mash "Xbox One" together and get "Xbone". Which is a much snappier name than the official one

But you can't use a word like bone... in certain young age categories (and then repeating in some later ones) that's gonna get ugly real fast :P

I always got the impression calling it the xbone was pejorative.

Nope. It's the defacto name for the thing among pro developers already (much like you'll never pry the term "PSX" for the PS1 out of the brains of 90s-era devs). It's only pejorative when prefaced with a string of curse words, usually from GPU programmers wondering why MS cheaped out on the pipelines vs. the PS4.

Sadly, PS/2 has lost the battle to PS2. *nt*

"wondering why MS cheaped out on the pipelines vs. the PS4."
Honestly, my head is still spinning at the complete & utter clusterfuck the Xbone is from a technical design perspective, it's a complete and total disaster.
..on-die eSRAM was supposed to be the magic bullet to bridge the GPU gap, except they only had the budget to put in 32MB of the stuff, which isn't enough to do the (1080p) job it was intended for.
That POS Kinnect has alot to answer for, as does that moron Don Mattrick and his obsession with it.
Microsoft lost me as a customer this console generation.
