Now that I finally got my book out of storage, and had a camera with me, I can post this.
It can't have been later than 2003, when I saw this at System16.com [image][/image]
Most people would say "A funny looking spaceship, So what?". However, to me it was as if a safari themed game had "Tigger the Tiger" as the boss. A childhood book of mine from 1978, "Spacecraft 2000 to 2100AD" has this on page 21 [image][/image]
Pictures are in the attached file, Its name is "Birdsnest". If the spaceship in "Arcade Classics" is not a quick placeholder graphic, that is insane.

lol I wonder if they licensed the image or just hoped the copyright police wouldn't notice?

Greetings on that finding.
Would you care to elaborate on the book? Author, ISBN, etc.
I'm very interested in that kind of pics. I am trying to find if there's any book with the sci-fi drawings that Windsor McCay was doing beginning the XX century while Little Nemo caught popularity.
I also love the classic sci-fi magazine covers, specially the 30's and 40's. I think I'll start a collection of them.

More like the project manager didn't notice. There's no need to think of some kind of organized conspiracy where incompetence or laziness could fill the gap.

http://iansales.com/tag/stewart-cowley/ lists some of them, he wrote even more. They are highly popular books, and the prices reflect that. I only have the first one. Reprints are being made (at least of the first book as "Spacecraft 2000 to 2200AD"; the reprints are much lower quality than the originals in many ways.
