Interesting. Apparently old news but if anyone's interested the code is on GitHub and though the original site http://www.fullscreenmario.com is down the Internet Wayback Machine has you covered.

There is a second link from the http://www.fullscreenmario.com take me to the Aleph One website. There are three games there that is on iTunes. Marathon 1, Marathon 2: Durandal and Marathon Infinity.
