A 1980s era Namco game and it's not listed as an entry on some sites at this time. Rare imo. It will be interesting to find out the object of the gameplay.

It's not on System 16, but I know it and I played it back then.

From memory it's basically a futuristic shooting gallery game, like Duck Hunt, had a huge projector that it threw a copy of the CRT on to,

sort of like a futuristic version of Shoot Away 1 (which also came out in '84)

Surely the projector works the same way as in Shoot Away/Shoot Away 2, like you(Six) said on IRC chat. With a bunch of motors, mirrors, and a lightspot or whatever. And the crt is just for titlescreen and scores, as opposed to shootaway, which uses marquees and LEDs.
The gun is probably very simple, like the NES Zapper "did i see light? yes/no"

BTW Speaking of shootaway, it's not as rare as this one. Is it on the DU wanted list?

"it's basically a futuristic shooting gallery game, like Duck Hunt"

Am I the only one that sees the humor in this comment?

On a more serious note, sweet find!

I don't think it has any dumpable chips. I'd like to see it emulated though, I used to play it at Dave & Busters when the adults weren't hogging it (rarely).

FWIW here's what it looks like in MAME:

When the color prom is dumped, and one of the gfx roms is redumped, it will look good.
Does someone have the schematics? It would be helpful getting the sound to work and for attempting to simulate the projector. I do remember there was a maintenance manual for sale on andysarcade.net but can't find it now, was that one scanned?

You would need to ask Andy but he is in the middle of moving and won't be able to redump the stuff for a few weeks.

I couldn't help thinking of a certain item when "projector" is mentioned in the sentence. :-)

Clean Sweep emulated (plus future bezel support), and future emulation of Highway, and if only parts and pieces show up for sale of WG that will make this year fantastic imo.

I wonder if Namco ever had flyers printed of this game. It seems like Dan H. (TAFA) might have found one by this time. Or maybe he did spot one, but chose to skip getting the flyer at the time.
