Super Cobra question

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I read at the Arcade Museum that you continue playing Super Cobra where you left off after you died. However, it doesn't seem to work for me. I tried holding button 1 and then press player 1, but that doesn't seem to work. Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

I tried it and it works fine provided you have credits entered before game over and you hold the "FIRE" button down (button 1 - default CTRL) for about a second and it kicks into a continue for you.

You need to hold down the fire button when "Game Over" appears at the screen, right? I did what you said, but the game just stays at that screen and eventually the high score list appears. The game only begins again when I press the player 1 start button, which takes me back to the very beginning.

Oh, I get it now. I forgot to change the "allow continue" option from "No" to "Yes". Thank you for your help! Now I actually have a chance at beating the game. Hehe

Go to "dip switches" and choose allow continue "4 times" ! (the other option is "no") When You die, just press fire to continue.
