I second this. I downloaded Flappy Bird to see what the fuss was about. It's hard, but it's completely uninteresting and visually boring. Why is this game, among the 80,000 games on the app store, a runaway hit? I get Angry Birds, and Cut the Rope, and most of the others, but this one baffles me.
Give "10000000" a try. I thought it was fun. Very old-school. The whole app+data only takes up 128KB on my phone, which shocked the hell out of me. Pretty impressive.
Better yet, buy it from the dev's store. You get a PC / Mac / Linux (Steam) version, and a DRM-free Android version. I dunno if you get DRM-free PC binaries.
He pulled Flappy Bird because he can't handle the pressure?!? Now he's really a tool. Personally, I could put up with a whole lot of bullshit for $50 grand a day.
They're not games, they're Skinner Boxes. They are designed in such a way to make people figuratively (and sometimes literally) addicted to the "game" by playing off of the most basic psychological factors that many people have. If you're not susceptible to such things, consider yourself lucky.

He's still going to get advertising money from where it was installed I'm sure but yeah what a pussy. And it's just like most other things, you can't delete them from the internet. Anyone who installed it before and deleted it can reinstall from their cloud (I just tested), anyone with an unlocked phone, and probably about 5 minutes until someone cracks it. I actually read part of a post about it the other day were a guy was trying to get deep about it and say how it was more than a game and represents blah blah blah struggle in an industrial world and that it was deep art and his goddamn feelings. I hate people now.

Kind of like that "Simpson's Tapped Out" game (although they're very self aware that the game is like that). I finally had to uninstall it because I was checking my phone every 45 minutes and tapping away.
