The state deserves it, having roads that long!

Huh. Never knew the whole 420 thing... so I Googled 420.
That explains Hash Day being 4/20 as well.
Thanks Tom.
Who didn't decorate their dorm room with old signs? I had "No Life Guard On Duty" and "Pay Before You Pump" in mine. I imagine if you're a pot head a 420 mile marker would do nicely.
But I was a beer drinker... which is why I'm not on welfare or food stamps. You never see beer drinkers on welfare or food stamps.
In Detroit, the sign to snag was "Exit 69 - Big Beaver Road"
We'd make the road trip numerous times, but someone else always beat us to it.

HEY! No one has longer roads than Texas... you can drive for two days straight and in still be in Texas. The longest single segment of Interstate Highway in Texas is I-10 at 878.6 miles.

As true as that is, and as much as I loathe Texas...Nebraska feels like a longer drive by far. 99.8% of that drive is corn, and not much else.

Tru dat. I drove across Nebraska only ONCE. The first half in daylight, the second half at night. Both halves sucked.
In the day you get hours and hours of corn. At night, you get pelted with giant bugs that are attracted to the headlights. I had to practically power-wash the front of the truck to get that shit off.

Aside from road signs and telephone poles ubiquitous across all of America...
Nebraska corn fields! Bring your camera!
Corn has some tall.. some short... some are brown... some are green... maybe a dynamic water sprinkler going, making rainbow patterns of light... sometimes the corn rows are perpendicular to the highway, or at crazy angles you can see down as you zip by... maybe a scare crow now and then... the variability is fantastic! We keep meaning to get up there for the scenic drives.
Texas... 878.6 miles of brown flat grass.

You forgot to mention the steers and queers. They count too.

See, that there is what you call a long road. The longest road in New Jersey is the Garden State Parkway, and that can be driven in a couple hours without exceeding the speed limit, if you avoid the rush.

I made the drive from San Diego to Tampa, Fl in 48 hours flat. That's with a stop in Louisiana to say hello to some old friends and grab a bite to eat (and a bottle of nodoze )

Just broke my personal record for number of consecutive days without dying!

Did they put up the new sign right where the old one was, or did they measure 52.8 feet back?
I would have made it "FURLONG 3360" or something dumb like that.
