Ambitious charity emulation project successfully concluded
#317549 - 11/20/13 12:11 AM

I haven't talked about this project on here before but suffice it to say that it was very ambitious. We collected donations, promised big things, and delivered on our promise last weekend in Las Vegas, NV, USA.

Here is the blog post with more details and videos. The arcade cabinet is powered by a single Raspberry Pi running a ported and heavily optimized version of Daphne. The two emulated games are Cobra Command (6502 version) and Cliff Hanger.

Very cool! I'd been quietly following this on both D-L-P and the DAPHNE forums, and am glad to see that Leslie got his machine. Congratulations to everyone who made it happen.

That's terrific, and an emulation-related use of the Raspberry Pi which I heartily endorse. If I had known about the project I would've tossed some money at it, although as it turns out you didn't need it.
