Loony Bin Forum - Artwork on Entrance Page
#317384 - 11/15/13 12:13 AM

Need a little help. Been going crazy trying to figure out the album artwork at top of Loony Bin. In the past, if I would right click on image it would give me just enough of a clue - but not this time. I've done some google image searches for 80's album artwork, but nothing yet. I know it's from the mid 80's - b52's, talking head, devo, or something new wave. Memory is not what it used to be...

What'll really bake your noodle is how I found that out (I am somewhat newskool and didn't know the album cover either.}

1. Open two tabs. In one, Google Image Search. In the other, Teh Loony Bin.
2. Click and drag Teh Loony Bin title image over to the Google Image tab.
3. Drop graphic into the Google Image Search prompt (this works)
4. ??????
5. PROFIT

It's a cheat

Many thanks Stiletto, appreciate the Google Image Search tip and for revealing the Loony Bin title image was the classic AC/DC album cover Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (released in the US in 1981)

I find it kind of fascinating when random people and things appear on album covers. There's a high probability that there's someone walking around today whose granny is immortalized on the cover of an AC/DC album.

Kind of like the guy whose VW was immortalized on the cover of Abbey Road, just because he happened to park in that spot on that day.

An interesting thing about that picture is that the people didn't pose there - they're superimposed onto the image. Also the back cover has the same motel shot without the people but with the black bars still there.

Volkswagen bought it at an auction and put it in their museum.

There'a also Paul Cole..

"I just happened to look up, and I saw those guys walking across the street like a line of ducks," Cole remembered. "A bunch of kooks, I called them, because they were rather radical-looking at that time. You didn't walk around in London barefoot."

How could you have missed jumping at that chance?

Pessimist: Oh, this can't get any worse!
Optimist: Yes, it can!
