Cops & Robbers Part II (The missing interior bezel)
#315711 - 10/11/13 08:08 PM Attachment: 017A Cops & Robbers Interior.jpg 185 KB (15 downloads)

Thanks to a curious inquiry by MrDo! while looking though his benefactor's bezel collection, we now have a scan of the interior bezel for Atari's Cops & Robbers.

As the story goes, the interior bezel was separated most likely from the same cabinet that my benefactor 500 miles north purchased years ago while the electronics were being repaired.

No one realized anything was missing until I scanned the front bezel for the Mame Art Project in 2010.

MrDo! picked up the bezel recently and brought it north for scanning and reuniting with the cabinet it belongs too.

A sweet bonus for my friend who has allowed me to borrow over sixty bezels over the past few years.

And here is a picture of what the whole thing might look like in Mame.

There is however a gangster with a Machine gun down low in the enormous cabinet that I've left out.

I'll have to see if the street lines in the bezel line up at all with the street lines on the monitor.

Now that definitely preserves the game and makes it that much better visual-wise.

Is that possible to get a photo or scan of that in the meantime and store that for future use?

I am guessing this would be impossible to support unless there is future 3D visual video support in MAME? You already know yourself, but to mention to younger generation, several other 1970s era cabs had interior artwork pieces such as Atari's Pool Shark or Video Pinball that can't really be supported in current MAME video output. Hopefully maybe the video support might be possible later. Some of the games aren't the same when artwork support is missing.

I look forward to the work there and also a thanks to all involved with this.

iirc I may have seen the game only at Knott's Buffalo Nickel arcade in late 1970s. I tried it once and didn't care for it as a kid then. I guess it didn't have the attraction-factor compared to a certain Nintendo film screen game back then.

How is the screen tilted at that angle?

I’m convinced Mario is a hobo.
He wakes up everyday in the same clothes, runs around in sewers, and collects coins for a living.
At the end of the day, he uses the coins to buy mushrooms

Be cool if the tilt get supported. I do know that the Final Burn Alpha does have tilt support.

I asked about this when HLSL was kinda new. No support so far. I am hoping this changes as some screens do need that angle in some cases as we see here in this thread. I hope it is in the future.
