You know how you get better pay if you work in fast food?

You get a better job, dumb ass.
Flipping burgers isn't a career, it's an entry level job... you know... like for teen agers who want to save up for the prom. You don't raise a family of four on it... duh.
God lord... I heard an interview today of this girl... "I been working here six years, and I'm still making minimum wage."
Right. And?
Oh... you missed the fact that you're still working there... six years later.
Yeah... that's not a career... that's called a dead end. And your there. Reset your navigator for "Move up in the world" and you'll do better.

All those people should just quit and go get better jobs. Also, fast food places should stop selling so much shitty food and focus on more nutrient dense and less processed offerings. And not just salads with a bunch of fried crap on them either.

I wonder what happens when fast food decides automation is better? There will be a lot of low wage jobs replaced.

But hasn't really caught on...most would rather eat someplace like Subway (across the street) or bring food from home. Nuking a burrito most likely made in some Central American sweatshop just doesn't seem as appealing.

I saw that at Wal~Mart the two summers I worked there. There were a handful of kids like me, who were home from college, just marking time and earning gas money. Then there were the lifers, people who's highest ambition was to make department lead, or maybe assistant manager if they were really ambitious.
I can kind of see how you fall into the trap, though. You graduate from high school (maybe), but don't have the aptitude, financial means, or ambition to go on to college, so you take whatever job you can get. Finding a better one can be close to impossible when you have no real skills, no education beyond the bare minimum, and no resume to speak of. Getting more education would be a way out, but if you're already living paycheck to paycheck, even getting an HVAC or medical assistant certificate may be out of the question. No doubt that for a lot of people, the biggest barrier is psychological. But for people without any kind of support network, I can see how it's possible to get stuck.

The part that made me shit was that they were earning 7.40/hr and demanding 15.00/hr. Sure! That's realistic. I'm sure you bring a lot to the table. If you're so talented in the food service industry, you can surely land a server job at a good restaurant and earn a better wage.
And yeah, six years? Still at McDonalds and not a manager? You're either disabled, retired or just gave up on life if you're slinging fries for that long.

But what about when say a mcdonalds or subway decides to do it? They pretty much pre-pack most of the ingredients/food anyway at the distribution level. Get a robot to reassemble at the kiosk level... Being open 24/7 is a lot more cost effective. Waste is minimized. It will be a real game changer. Just in time service will be coming to a fast food place. The scale of cost savings will be too much for them to ignore.
OT but this makes seriously awesome fries http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-911/double-fried-french-fries-recipe/index.html
Also to get that 'mcdonalds' french fry taste one of the key steps is pre-cooking the fries then freezing them solid then finishing cooking them.
Damn now I want french fries.

Oh that's great! She's very articulate for someone raging over nuggets, and comes up with far more creative threats than you'd generally expect. "I'm going to eat your fucking face and I'm going to digest it and shit it out into the gutter." "I will go Super Saiyan!" hahaha

The hissing / roaring tweaked my spider sense .... her mouth didn't move right for some of the audio .... I thought it might be lag / sync issues, but did some more research on this anyway .... Turns out the audio was added later by some creative thinkers with great senses of humour ... the audio wasn't recorded in the store (although, they are crazy not recording audio as part of their security).
Here's the original video (which has no sound):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlbV-NPT56s#t=31
A shame the audio wasn't legit - there were some truly epic lines there, and they seemed to fit perfectly with the actions in the video. ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/awe.gif)
Can't believe she pleaded not guilty and still only got 60 days and ordered to pay for the window. This seems very light ....

I thought so...I knew I had seen this footage probably over a year ago, but it has recently resurfaced, even in the mainstream media like CNN have shown this version of the McNuggets freak out.

You should stop paying attention to any and all "news" sources which report as fact such items.
If that leaves you with no news at all, so much the better.

If you've read any of my fairly recent posts you'll know that I do.
At the building where I work, in the entrance/lobby there are 2 large screens tuned into CNN. The volume is pretty low so you usually can't hear what's going on, but from the crawler at the bottom of the screen, and the "headlines" posted underneath the talking-head of a commentator usually sums up all I need to know in 2 seconds...which is, that they're talking about utter bullshit and non-news.

Sun Valley Foods hold the contract to make the McChicken Sandwiches for McDonalds, and the exact same thing renamed and specially packaged for sale in Marks & Spencer stores over here. There was no such thing as hygine when i worked there and i still remember the rancid smell of the offal hoppers to this day.
I'll probably get sued now for publically naming one of McD's contractors.....
