MAMEUI64 no vsync help
#312731 - 08/12/13 03:19 AM

Hello,

I have installed MAMEUI64 and there is no vsync in Direct3D mode no matter what I set it in the options and in the graphics driver. However there is vsync in GDI mode but there the scrollig not so nice, it clogs.
Is there any workaround for this?

Intel C2D 2.66/4G RAM/HD6450 2G/Windows 8 64 bit
latest graphics drivers and MAMEUI64

I've previously used OSXMame on Mac and the scrolling was nice and there was vsync too.

Thanks guys for the input!

IIRC vsync works only in "windowed" mode, otherwise you should use triple-buffering for avoid tearings... and I guess it's the behaviour of official MAME too..

But only on Windows? That would be a little bit of strange. Then why is there an option to turn it on or off? Tried triple buffering also but it doesn't reduce tearing.

OK then can anyone tell me what is the latest MameUI 32 bit and where to get it? As far as i know it didn't have this issue so i would use that instead.

Thanks!
MameUI version 147 is the latest with working vsync in D3D if anyone interested. GDI mode still offers vsync in later versions but the scrolling is choppier than D3D mode.
It might be a bug that affect some OS/Graphics card etc combination but this is the developers turn.

It is the multithread rendering if anyone interested. But the scroll is still choppy even with vsync because i cant change monitor refresh. Ive opened a new topic. Thx for the help.
