Toggle Layers

Is there anyway to toggle layers in Mame to switch between foreground and background graphics. Im trying to take screenshots of fighting game backgrounds for a project i'm working on.

I’m convinced Mario is a hobo.
He wakes up everyday in the same clothes, runs around in sewers, and collects coins for a living.
At the end of the day, he uses the coins to buy mushrooms
|

Just go to where you want in the game, press F4, press enter tell you see background, and press F12 for snapshot.
