Yes, a movie or something.

Search "Grabthar," you'll find Galaxy Quest.

Although Alan Rickman's head really does look like that these days. Terrible plastic surgery mishap.

One of the Few Sci-Fi, as well as one of the even fewer Tim Allen movies I enjoyed

I love, love, love this movie.

See the Wikipedia entry on this, where Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes (both Star Trek TNG alumni) shared their enthusiasm for it.

Hmmm. For some reason I expected to see a quote from Patrick like "By Grabthar's Hammer what a movie."

You kind of set me up for disappointment just there. You did.

They love it more because it didn't skewer TNG, really, at all.

Totally wish there could be a "Galaxy Quest: The New Generation" or something - with a similar premise, but targeting TNG instead. Alas...

Truly the magic of this movie is lost on people who've never seen a single Trek episode (I have my suspicions about Outrun2006...)

The "show" did feature a child pilot. See Wil Wheaton's comment.

Shatner's response to it was also positive, as well as Takei's.
