Just curious, can you walk down the street and smoke a blunt now without anyone stopping you? That's kind of wicked. I hope more states follow. When's the last time you heard of someone committing a violent act while "toked up on weed?"

I don't think that will ever happen. You still have to respect your fellow citizens who don't want to breathe in your second-hand smoke. Legalizing recreational use of cannabis doesn't give you permission to be an inconsiderate asshole.

In MA, if you're over 18 and in possession of one ounce or less, the penalty is a $100 civil fine (more or less akin to a speeding ticket). So I wouldn't just go walking down the street toking away, but if you get busted it's more of an annoyance than a life wrecking event. It doesn't affect me much as I don't partake, but so far none of the lawlessness and chaos predicted by the law's opponents has manifested.
It's still kind of in Limbo. I don't think it will EVER be completely legal to walk down the street with a lit "J" just as it's not legal to walk around town with an open alcoholic beverage (and IMO the stigma should be just as bad)
The laws are still pretty confusing but it's going to be legal to buy for personal use, up to an ounce (I believe) without legal consequence.
1/1/14 is the day when you can legally go into a dispensary and purchase (unless this gets changed some time this year)
Employers can and WILL still enforce their drug policies.
CO has always been pretty relaxed when it comes to weed although there are pockets throughout the state (like CO. Springs) , and certain officers who don't think the same way and will bust your ass for very little. I expect although it will be legalized, that it's not going to be well accepted everywhere.
