hlsl path and ini

The only way I've found to have hlsl working is with the hlsl settings code in mame.ini and the hlsl folder in the mame folder. I'd like to have the hlsl folder in d:\mamefiles just like I have there the snaps, roms, cfg, artwork, etc.
This is how I have it now:
# # DIRECT3D POST-PROCESSING OPTIONS # hlsl_enable 1 hlslpath hlsl hlsl_ini_read 0 hlsl_ini_write 0 hlslini %g -> what does this code mean? hlsl_prescale_x 0 hlsl_prescale_y 0 hlsl_preset -1 -> what's this for? hlsl_write -> and this?
I've tried moving my hlsl folder to d:\mamefiles and cut-paste the whole code under the DIRECT3D POST-PROCESSING OPTIONS to a file called hlsl.ini in d:\mamefiles, leaving this in mame.ini:
hlsl_enable 1 hlslpath d:\mamefiles\hlsl hlsl_ini_read 1 hlsl_ini_write 0 hlslini d:\mamefiles\hlsl\hlsl.ini
It doesn't work (crash). Am I doing anything wrong?

After some tests I've got it working, placing the hlsl folder in d:\mamefiles and indicating:
hlslpath e:\emuladores\mamefiles\hlsl
However, as soon as I add:
hlsl_ini_read 1
...MAME crashes

Put hlsl directory in same location as your mame.exe or mame64.exe (executable) Then setup your .ini accordingly.
If you are getting crashes then re-create the mame.ini and set it up again. This has fixed crashing for some people I've talked too.
mame -cc mame64 -cc
Also for more information see MAME64\docs\hlsl.txt

As I said, it's working for me that way. Actually, it's working for me even with the hlsl folder in a different location. However, for some unknown reason, it crashes when reading the hlsl.ini file. My question is: do you all have the same problem with hlsl_ini_read 1?

I have everything reading from my mame.ini so I don't have to worry about all these different files.
I have different 'profiles' saved and just C&P them into my mame.ini depending what game I'm playing.

hlsl_ini_read 0 hlsl_ini_write 0
Don't really need those anyway.
This will be fine. Set as default.
readconfig 1
I have all the alt set up configs ini files in my ini folder. Good enough to me. This is my path.
inipath .;ini
No crashes at all.
