He even allegedly helped design it. All he probably helped with was the idea of going around and saving children. He probably just told designers for them to make a game where he touches rescues children... and so they credited him in helping to design the game. It's not like he was a collector looking for popular or important games from different eras, he just got whatever was hot at the time, starting from when he first started making insane amounts of money in the early '80s. I came across this site right around the time Michael died. I'm pretty sure that before it was Michael's arcade it was a department store. Probably a JC Penney or Macy's or something. I recall noticing the details of the walls and ceiling... I'll have to look again.... Edit: Maybe it was a former department store. I don't recall seeing so many bikes (and I think they'd stand out since some of them had flat tires), but maybe I forgot about 'em. It was the wires up/around the ceiling tiles that made me suspect it wasn't too well thought out... So, I guess that would lend to the idea that it wasn't originally built to be an arcade but more like a converted 'space'. The first pics I ever saw of his arcade were related to the auction of his assets after he died, and there are banners for the auction in these pics. I wonder if everything was moved offsite and these pics are from where they were placed on display for the auction. The backdrop definitely has a very department store look to it. Funny thing is when you finish the Sega 2.5D arcade version (remember there are three distinct games all called Moonwalker), there's no long list of credits: Michael is the only person credited. I wonder if none of the developers wanted their names associated with it or something. It seems kind of odd and out of place for them to be there just-for-show. Were they special bicycles or something. Surely they couldn't have allowed kids to ride bikes throughout the arcade, as it would be a safety issue, driving into other kids hurting them. But yet having the bikes there, had to tempt the kids to get on them and ride them. It's near the Neo Geo MVS, Mortal Kombat, and some light gun shooter. It's located in between the basketball statue and the Mortal Kombat cab. It looks like one of those machines that run a pinball emulator. Does anyone know what game that is? It's all black with two red buttons on the side.
