I think, from what I've seen, the characters at least look familiar/distinguishable. I don't think that's a downside. Moves very quick/smooth - but I'm sure that's due to the hardware.
Will it actually be a rehash/remake? I don't see a 3 at the end, so....

To be honest I'm not sure it's the killer app they seem to be hoping it is. It's obviously still a tech demo so they will probably rush it out for the November release.
With the eggsbox one at £130 more than the PS4 though I know where my money's going.
Shame really since I'm a bit of a die hard KI fan. Of the original at least.

I don't think it's a killer app at all. Post-N64 Rare has basically destroyed their reputation amongst gamers, and KI itself is known mostly to hardcore MAME players and Nintendo superfans today. Neither group is likely to be buying an Xbone. But I hope it turns out OK regardless.
ETA: Oh, it's actually worse, it's the developers of Silent Hill Homecoming. Which was... not good.

The nail in the coffin is that it's one of those "free-to-play" titles which is fine, except you have to BUY characters. When you download it, you get one.
The set of features read like a set of restrictions. It's so bad I wouldn't believe it hearing it just through word of mouth. They are like false rumors a Sony nerd would make up.

When you consider that Ballmer loves business customers and thinks that having to deal with consumers is a nuisance it makes perfect sense. (This also explains much of Windows 8, even though I like it more than most).
MS is just completely out of touch. It reminds me of a few years ago when the Sony guy said "it's not about the games, it's about the input device" regarding their getting whipped by the Wii. How people so clueless get these positions is really amazing.
They're bragging about smoke effects and close up rounding. What's going to make them FUN TO PLAY is what they should be asking themselves.
So, a new KI game. On a platform that's going to have DRM and require solid internet to be functional.
How is this going to be feasible for physical offline tournaments? The internet is ALWAYS sketchy, and having to set up a dozen XBL Gold accounts with the full game and DLC so you can run a dozen sets at the same time is NOT going to work.
This game isn't going to see any traction at the tourney level. It's going to fade in less than a month.

I have a feeling you are in the minority in that belief.
It probably will happen a long, long way down the line but for now, it's too much too soon and their "deal with it" attitude absolutely isn't going to sway angry consumers into buying their "console".

Everyone who voted EA the worst company in the world because of the SimCity online DRM would like to have a word with you.
The new KI game looks interesting with graphics looking similar to Street Fighter IV. But that's not enough for me the buy an Xbox One. I do not like the direction that Microsoft is taking with their new console. The new KI game is not enough for me to buy Xbox One. I hate the idea making the console region locked due to piracy, the lame excuse Microsoft is making. Now I cannot buy Japanese Xbox games for Xbox One. On the Xbox 360 I can. I'm boycotting Xbox One. Because of this, I'm buying myself a PS4 instead so I can play Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III. Sony really cares about their fans and hardcore gamers.
