I've a box in the corner full of stuff from all the PCs I've owned, back to that Packard Bell running Win3.11. Most of my Commodore is still in the basement.

So, yes.

Terry Welsh, "Really Slick Screen Savers" new [Re: TheBigAmbulance]

After Dark is before my time..

These are from when "hardware accelerated graphics" was new and exciting:
http://www.reallyslick.com/screensavers/ I had these on Windows 98 in my first PC, a 350MHz Pentium II with a 16MB Nvidia TNT video card.
Lattice and Solar Winds are the coolest ones. They work fine on Windows 7.

Many of them have been ported to OS X as well: http://s.sudre.free.fr/Software.html

He also did this one for nvidia, which I still use:
http://www.nvidia.com/coolstuff/demos#!/geoforms
Geoforms is by Ryan Geiss, who also did the Winamp Milkdrop (and of course, the Geiss) visualizer.
http://www.geisswerks.com/about_geoforms.html

And there's this: http://www.reallyslick.com/retrobooster/
Looks like it could be fun on a MAME cab.

VoodooLights is still my fave. Only screen saver I ever paid for and still use it today on Windows 8.

Using Solar Winds at this moment (pointless I know, but I've always been a sucker for screensavers).

My original copy of After Dark is on floppies, and it includes an SDK for writing your own! I remember sucking badly at writing screen savers
