DU Update: You must be crazy to cross me
#308368 - 05/07/13 01:49 AM

Thanks to Tom Braider we got Crazy Cross. It turns out it is actually on Konami GV not GX, it is the export version of Susume! Taisen Puzzle Dama.

I remember when it was listed on unMAMEd in 2000, there may have been an image snap of this game Taisen Puzzle Dama http://www.progettoemma.net/gioco.php?game=puzldama
on the Konami section. It was eventually removed.

iirc there may have been a thread or two on the old MAME.net forums and some had guessed that there was never a Europe/World version of the arcade version of the game. That's what I vaguely recall.

Is it a sequel of the original Crazy Cross: http://mamedev.emulab.it/undumped/images/Crazycross.gif ?
The one in the gif shows a 1994 copyright and maybe is on Konami GX hardware.

This one is for asian, no idea if there was a us/europe/world release.

I don't know where those gifs come from. Maybe this was a sequel and should be called "Let's Attack Crazy Cross" or maybe the pics you linked to were a development version and they never released it on GX under that name. I don't know.

>I don't know where those gifs come from.

Bobby Tribble had some of those images of the entry previously on unMAMEd many years ago.
They were removed after the Japanese region was supported.

>Maybe this was a sequel and should be called "Let's Attack Crazy Cross"

I am now currently going with this being the scenario. I believe there is an alternate language region yet to be found. The title screen should likely look like the Japanese region version with words Crazy Cross shown.

http://www.progettoemma.net/gioco.php?game=puzldama

With examples like the one shown below where it took some time before an English language version was found, again it may be some time before an (Asian region?) version of Crazy Cross can be found.

Some of those images are what Bobby had shown on unMAMEd many years earlier. I am guessing there might be an Asian region (English language?) that is yet to be found. The title screen image should look like what is shown on Japanese region version, but it should have Crazy Cross as the shown title.

I know. That's correct however still, he do look like Kuririn somewhat.

I'm not convinced any previous Crazy Cross games were actually released. This hasn't been helped by the fact that a lot of Konami puzzle games frequently have been mislabeled as "Crazy Cross" on eBay (usually games tagged as such are the Japanese version).

Konami's "Crazy Cross" trademark was abandoned.

However it wouldn't suprise me if the game can be region hacked.

Congrats for those finding it (DU group as well).

I guess this still leaves a possibility that a European region version of Crazy Cross 2 might exist and needs to be found.
