Don't bother using the mamedev browser, it isn't being updated.
For example, version.c has:
const char build_version[] = "0.148u1 ("__DATE__")";

Yeah, but the reason I liked it was that it was on mamedev.org, and thus "official"
wouldn't it be better if it appeared as http://git.mamedev.org ? It wouldn't have to be hosted there... could simply be a DNS alias for the subdomain...
