I'm using mame148u2 64bit windows 7 and the game crashes when checking the roms. I tried it on mameui64 and it loads and works. I deleted everything in my folder that has pbball96 and still no go. I was going to check mametesters but the site is down.
Thanks

Forgot get the snapshot on the MAME build.
This from the svn source. Test the one from the svn to see the problem go away.
Building the chdman and then do a fix on the chd. After this I will test again with a chd fix.

I get no crashes using 0.148u2 and loads/plays fine with HLSL enabled or disabled.

I don't think that is the problem since it does work on mameui64. Care to upload your mame64.exe?

Happy Easter
It's already attached in the 0.148u2 news thread.
I'm pretty such red compiles the official source + diffs the same as me.

That's the one I used. I just compiled to the newest svn 22169 and works now.
Thanks

I compile from the SVN that matches the release version plus update (0.148u2). I do add the Whatsnew text file before compressing it. I use the official toolchain.

I suppose that is OK red, but I might suggest of you when a new U release happens, extract the official source from mamedev.org then patch the appropriate diff or diffs (depending) then execute a make all is how I suggest going about it.
Of course you are free to do what you wish

From what I understand the source is exactly the same. If a Dev steps in and says different, I'll do it the other way.

That is not always an exact match for the release version, and it'd be better if you called such builds "rev xxxxx" when distributing rather than "0.XXXuY".
